Who Built This
Built by a musician/engineer vibe-coding with Gemini Flash, passionate about the intersection of audio engineering and web technology. Frustrated by the lack of reliable, privacy-focused online tools for musicians, I set out to build my own. What started as a simple chromatic tuner has grown into a comprehensive suite of utilities including a metronome, tone generator, audio analyzer, and interactive ear-training games.
My background in both performance and digital signal processing (DSP) informs every tool on this site. I understand the frustration of practicing with a metronome that lags or a tuner that "jumps" too erratically to be useful. That is why PitchMaster focuses heavily on performance and algorithmic stability, bringing studio-quality DSP to the web.
The Technology Behind PitchMaster
PitchMaster leverages the modern Web Audio API to deliver millisecond-accurate pitch detection and audio generation directly within your browser. This technology allows us to bypass the operating system's native audio delays and interact directly with the audio hardware.
For example, our Chromatic Tuner uses a highly optimized autocorrelation algorithm combined with a parabolic interpolation step to detect pitch with sub-cent accuracy (less than 1/100th of a semitone). Our Tone Generator bypasses standard sample playback, instead calculating mathematically perfect sine waves in real-time to avoid aliasing artifacts. The Audio Analyzer performs a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) at 60 frames per second to provide a fluid, real-time spectral view of your audio environment.

Unlike many other music apps and websites, PitchMaster respects your privacy. All of our microphone-based tools (like the Tuner and Audio Analyzer) process your audio locally right inside your web browser using the Web Audio API. We never record, store, or transmit your audio data to our servers. Your music belongs to you. No accounts, no logins, no data harvesting.
